A strategic terminal for the handling of freight in northern Italy, capable of attracting new investments. The terminal is located between the towns of Forlì and Forlimpopoli, in the province of Forlì-Cesena, along the Adriatic Corridor of the Bologna-Ancona line. It is equipped with 2 tracks with a total length of 1270 metres, stands on an area of 140 thousand square metres and provides twice-weekly rail connections with Puglia and Sicily.
Specialised in the conventional rail transport of liquid foodstuffs and long-distance intermodal transport, it is a contender for inclusion in the future simplified logistics zone - ZLS - of Emilia-Romagna by upgrading the infrastructure, in particular by adding support and loading/unloading tracks, widening the surface to allow shunting with mobile cranes, and with the electrification of the shunting poles.
